London Plus Social Prescribing Network Homepage
About the network
London Plus believes in the importance of supporting civil society and tackling health inequalities. We have joined forces with the GLA (Greater London Authority) and set up a Social Prescribing Network to strengthen the role of the VCSE sector who are delivering social prescribing activities across London.
The network does this in a number of ways e.g. webinars, collecting case studies, blogging, as well as encouraging our members to share best practice and materials with one another.
We hope this is a place that our members will find useful as well as shape what is needed by the sector.
By becoming a member of this network, you are helping to achieve the following aims:
- Promoting social prescribing and its role in improving people’s health and wellbeing;
- Highlighting, supporting and developing best practice that informs policy;
- Improving understanding and engagement between social prescribing practitioners, health professionals, commissioners, and funders;
- Representing the voice of service users, patients and carers.

Thriving Communities Programme
We are delighted to be London’s regional development partner for the National Academy of Social Prescribing (NASP) new Thriving Communities Programme.
Thriving Communities is a new support programme for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise groups, supporting communities impacted by Covid-19 in England, working alongside social prescribing link workers. Find out more about it in our press release.
We are excited to have partnered with five CVS’s across the capital who will be the regional development lead for their areas:
One Westminster (North West London), Voluntary Action Camden (North Central London), Tower Hamlets CVS (North East London), Bexley CVS (South East London), Croydon Voluntary Action (South West London).
If you are part of a local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise group or organisation in England providing support to communities impacted by Covid-19 and health inequalities, Thriving Communities will help you to share your learning, gain new ideas, access funding and develop partnerships across sectors.
Please head to the Thriving Communities page to access resources and to sign up to be part of the programme.
