What if everyone stopped volunteering?

Have you ever stopped to think about how much of our society is powered by volunteers? This new report from social enterprise Works4U explores the critical role of volunteers to the day-to-day functioning of our society. The report brings together insights from experts in the volunteering world, to consider the very big question ‘What if everyone stopped volunteering?’

Volunteers are fundamental to the operation of UK society, from supporting education and health services to fostering community connection and resilience. Without them, the report shows, our society would be less democratic, less equal, less just, less happy, less healthy, less connected, less cohesive, less resilient, and ultimately poorer in every possible way.

This report was produced by Dominic Pinkney, Works4U (also co-Chair of the London Volunteer Centre Network) and includes a contribution from London Plus.
