Chief Executive
Hi, I’m the Chief Executive here at London Plus. I am responsible for making sure that London Plus is doing what it should, that we are helping the charity sector in London to be stronger and thrive. I am responsible for the delivery of our mission and for the London Plus team.
I love travel and have been to 26 countries in 6 continents. The continent I’ve not been to is Antarctica which is definitely on my bucket list for the future.
I’ve always worked in the charity sector, and that is really important to me. It’s very much where my passion is. I’ve worked for a range of different cause-related organisations, including equalities, substance misuse, and young people. I’ve lived in London since I was 18 and I’m also really passionate about what a great place it is to live and work, but I’ve also seen that there are lots of complex challenges in London. So, London Plus gives me the opportunity to bring together these important parts of my life.
I’m somebody that is very motivated by making a difference. Outside of my professional life I’m involved in lots of community activities. I’m a trustee, I’ve volunteered in a school, been a school governor, a local councillor. So, for me it’s really important to be a part of making the changes in the world that I want to see. From very early in my career I knew it was important to me to feel passion for what I do, and there’s nowhere else that you get that in quite the same way as the charity sector.
It’s a small team and the people are fantastic. We also have a really interesting perspective and are helping charities to make a difference. Moving to the infrastructure side of the sector has been really interesting, I’m really enjoying the role and am getting out to visit local infrastructure charities across London and seeing the good work that is going on.
I love to read, and one of my favourite things to do is discover new restaurants around London!
Yes! Roti King near Euston station is incredible. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it does the most delicious Malaysian food.
